The flood duration on the studied meadow varied from 41 to 72 days. The floodplain did not flood for two years. The average duration of the flooding was 35 days. The air temperature exceeded the multi-year average from 1,5 to 3,9 °C during the growing season. There was no significant relationship between the duration and timing of flood and the yield of the grass stand. The influence of the amount of precipitation during the vegetation period on the grass stand productivity is revealed. The correlation coefficient varied within 0,69–0,71. Longterm two-hay use of the floodplain meadow of the river Sozh for twenty years under the existing climatic conditions makes it possible to obtain an average yield of meadow associations at a level of 3,0–3,4 t/ha.
